Armageddon

View daily reading plan: Revelation 19.11-21

With their enemies about to overcome them, the threatened nation will see their Saviour coming out of heaven, as described in Revelation 19.11- 21. He will appear in power and great glory, accompanied by the armies of heaven (Revelation 19.14) and by all His saints (1 Thessalonians 3.13).

He is the Messiah whom they had rejected when He came the first time. He will arrive on the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14.1-4). He will proceed to crush and defeat all His enemies along a battlefront all the way north to Armageddon. He will subdue everyone and everything that is against Him.

He will also capture the Beast and the False Prophet, removing them from the proud place of authority which they had taken. They were the ones who deceived the nations and instigated all the opposition to God. Both are cast alive into the Lake of Fire (v.20).
