The King

View daily reading plan: Mathew 25.31-46

Christ will be exalted as King of kings and Lord of lords (Revelation 19.16). He will sit on the “Throne of His Glory” and will judge all the nations on the earth at that time. He will separate them for punishment or reward based on how they treated the previously suffering nation of Israel (Matthew 25.31-46).

A battle-scarred and spoiled earth will be changed and healed. Even its geographical features will be altered especially around Jerusalem (Zechariah 14.4-9). New valleys will be formed and new rivers will flow to bring prosperity. Jerusalem will become the chief city of the whole earth. There our Lord Jesus will set up His throne and rule perfectly over the whole world.

He will be vindicated and honoured in that very place where many centuries before they had cried, “Away with Him! Crucify Him!” Every knee will bow to Him at last as promised in Philippians 2.10-11. The wonderful words of Revelation 11.15 will be true:

“The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever.”
