The name Titanic is synonymous with tragedy and the story of her sinking when over 1,500 souls perished in the North Atlantic on 15th April 1912
continues to fascinate. As Titanic was nearing completion at her fitting out berth in Belfast, another equally poignant drama was unfolding. The British Antarctic Expedition led by Captain Robert F Scott had set out in 1910 with the aim of securing the honour of being the first to reach the South Pole. Some miles from the Pole they saw a black flag tied to a pole, Amundsen and his party had beaten them! The expedition would end in death.
Sooner or later we must all face death. This solemn truth should cause us to consider where we will spend eternity. The death of Christ has achieved
its purpose in the millions who have been saved through Him.
