Exploratory Thoughts on Luke.

A SURGEON EXAMINES A PHYSICIAN’S GOSPEL
Following the publication of Expository Thoughts on Acts, I was asked if I would write another. To my surprise, here it is, Exploratory Thoughts on Luke.

These Thoughts are intended to fill the gap between notes and more technical commentaries. They may be used in private quiet times or as a contribution to Bible studies.

Luke paints a very attractive and appealing picture of the Lord Jesus, highlighting His compassion and love for the genuine enquirer, the poor, the lost and the sinner. His compassion and love are in contrast to the continuing and increasing opposition and hatred by His critics. Throughout the Gospel, they were planning His death, yet the Lord, ell aware of these plans, moved with determination and dignity towards the Cross.

It is my prayer that these Thoughts will help Christians in their journey and that those who have never trusted Christ will be persuaded by a consideration of Luke’s Gospel to do so.

As a surgeon himself, Jonathan has always been fascinated by the beloved physician Luke and his profound insights into human nature and personality.
